Lanzarote excursions from Fuerteventura
Take a tour from Fuerteventura to Lanzarote and discover the most interesting sites in a single day.
We propose 4 tours around Lanzarote, which include different routes, so you can choose the one that catches your attention the most.
Even though all the tours start and end in Lanzarote, we’ll provide you with all the information you need so that you can get from the Corralejo pier, in northern Fuerteventura, to the Playa Blanca pier, in southern Lanzarote, on your own.
Where to catch the ferry from Corralejo to Playa Blanca?
Two ferry companies travel from the Corralejo pier to the Playa Blanca pier and back. The approximate sailing time between both ports is just 35 minutes and you can check the departure times for both companies and book your ticket here: Fred Olsen and Naviera Armas.
Before booking your tickets, check the tour’s departure and return times and make sure to book at times when you can arrive with ease, since both the ferries and tours can suffer unforeseen events.
Where will I be picked up in Playa Blanca?
During the reservation process you’ll need to write, as a meeting point, “Muelle de Playa Blanca Busstop, Avenida de las Canarias, Playa Blanca”. With few exceptions, the pick-up time for all tours is 9:25 a.m. at the Playa Blanca Pier bus stop. In the reservation voucher you’ll find a picture and a map that will help you locate the bus stop, which is about 200 meters from the dock.
Lanzarote’s main attractions
Due to the high number of interesting places to visit, Lanzarote is a theme park in itself. Below we present the 6 most outstanding sites, so that you can choose a route.
Timanfaya National Park
The Timanfaya National Park is Lanzarote’s great landscape pride, and that’s why all the tours propose a visit to the park.
In this 51 square km site, you can find 25 active volcanoes, even though the last eruption was in 1824.
During the tour to Timanfaya we will travel the 14 km Volcano Route so you can contemplate the spectacular landscape that has been formed by craters, lava and rocks.
In the place known as the Islet of Hilario, you will discover that volcanic activity is still latent in the area through different experiments and why this area is also known as the Fire Mountains.
*All tours, except in Lanarote Highlights tour, include a stop in the park so you can enjoy one of the most demanded activities on the island: a camel ride in the Timanfaya National Park. Camel riding is optional.
Jameos del Agua
The Jameos del Agua are a great work by the artist César Manrique. In this volcanic tube area, caused by the eruption of the Corona Volcano more than 3,000 years ago, the brilliant artist managed to merge both nature and art in a unique space in this world.
When visiting the Jameos del Agua you’ll find a compound made up of an indoor auditorium, an outdoor pool and a beautiful indoor lake inhabited by albino crabs known as jameitos.
The Green Cave
Like the Jameos del Agua, the Cueva de los Verdes (Green Cave) is part of the volcanic tube that was created by the eruption of the Corona Volcano.
During your visit to Cueva de los Verdes we’ll travel through approximately 1 km of underground galleries of various levels and heights, some including cavities, greater than 50 meters.
You cannot leave Cueva de los Verdes without discovering the secrets it holds.
** This visit is not recommended for people with reduced mobility, due to the steepness of some of the steps, or for people with severe claustrophobia.
The Green lagoon
Like almost all tourist attractions in Lanzarote, the Laguna Verde, also known as the Charco de los Clicos, Lago Verde or Laguna de El Golfo, has a volcanic origin. In this area, declared a Nature Reserve, you’ll find a lagoon whose green color contrasts with the black volcanic sand that surrounds it, as well as the blue of the sea which lies near the lake.
La Geria
La Geria is the wine-growing area of Lanzarote and here you’ll find the vines of the two most prestigious varieties that hold the Lanzarote Denomination of Origin: Muscatel and Malvasia.
During your visit to La Geria you’ll see how the vines are cultivated, buried in conical holes in volcanic soil and protected by stone walls to shelter them from the wind.
Los Hervideros
Located on the southwest coast of Lanzarote and very close to the Timanfaya National Park you’ll find these volcanic lava cavities through which, when the tide is high and the sea water penetrates through them, water is forcefully expelled through its cavities towards the surface.
